Our Review of 2011
2011 began with what is becoming the normal post-Christmas and New year rush, with lots of hard work, very happy customers, and a full diary that once again pushed our organisational skills to the limit! We worked hard to keep all of our customers happy, in the face of what turned out to be a transitional year for Ocelot Solutions.
One of the first projects of the year was to redesign a clients international web site along with a revamp of its e-commerce section. The task was deemed sufficiently large to bring a partner design studio on board to help with the task. The project took many weeks to 'complete' and pushed Ocelot Solutions customer relations skills to its absolute maximum. Unfortunately, despite months of essentially free development in the face of continuously changing requirements, we eventually took the difficult decision to withdraw our input from the project. This was a decision we did not take lightly, as the client was valuable to other areas of our business. In taking such a difficult decision, we took into account the impact the project was having on our other clients, along with our long-term plans for Ocelot Solutions. The decision turned out to be one of the best decisions we have made, allowing us to concentrate on even better client support, improved communications during client projects and building better project planning skills including quoting and time management.
Despite the above setback, Ocelot Solutions still managed to deliver some top-quality software in 2011. Our annual offerings to the Feng Shui Store included a brand new version of the Tong Shu Almanac, a major update to the world's leading feng shui software The Academy of Feng Shui, as well as two tools which now allow the Feng Shui Store to publish important information on their website and various social media channels on a daily basis. These two tools are the Feng Shui Store Facebook Daily and Monthly Updates, which were delivered to the client in March and April 2011 respectively.
Ocelot Solutions also delivered updates to Primary Designs OptiMate Professional and Dadbrook Gallery's Database Manager software. This, along with a brand new tool to distribute web site and software updates to clients, as well as two products which are in current development, made 2011 an excellent and productive year for our software design department.
Ocelot Solutions also completed work on eleven new web sites in 2011, which improves our 2010 figures. Due to the increasing workload and tighter schedules, we have maintained our working relationship with Bronislav Chury, who was initially brought in to work on the aborted project described above. Indeed, as of the end of 2011, Bronek was still working on several high-profile projects and there is more work earmarked for him on a wider scale in 2012.
Ocelot Solutions have continued to provide a first-class service to its private clients in terms of hardware support. We treat every client equally. Whether they are private with a single PC or commercial with a client-server network, we do our best to provide a fast, efficient service at a very affordable price.
We have some very exciting projects lined up for 2012, with three major software projects due for delivery in the first quarter, two major web site projects scheduled for delivery by February, along with a brand new commercially available product by summer 2012.
We can reveal yet more good news with the announcement that we will be holding our prices yet again for 2012. We appreciate that in these difficult times, it is important to get a great service at a great price. By holding our prices once more in 2012, it means that, since 2004, our prices have only increased on two occasions.

It only remains for me to wish you and your family/colleagues a very propserous 2012. Thank you for using Ocelot Solutions and we look forward to providing you with a first-class service in 2012.
