BEHAVIOURAL AUDITS

A behavioural audit can be raised when an employee observes a fellow employee performing a task within the workplace. The audit could be raised when the observed individual is deemed to not be following procedure or is carrying out the task in a manner which could impact upon the safety of fellow employees. However, an audit can also be raised to highlight competence or behaviour of an individual which meets or even exceeds the expected level.

New Behavioural Audit Example

Once a behavioural audit has been created, it is available as a received behavioural audit within the observed employee's login area, as a submitted behavioural audit within the observing employee's login area as well as within the behavioural audit list and relevant employee sections within the administrator's login area.

It is also possible to set a required frequency of behavioural audit submissions for employees. This encourages engagement with procedures and standards that create a safer environment for all employees.

When a behavioural audit is being created, the observing employee can specify which key safe behaviours are classed as safe or unsafe and select the two most relevant for the audit. This in itself helps to identify key safe behaviours where employees may need extra training or where the key safe behaviour might need reviewing.

Key Safe Behaviour List Example

The key safe behaviour list visually identifies the top two positive and top two negative-ranked key safe behaviours, using the information provided within all submitted behavioural audits.

UNSAFE CONDITIONS

An unsafe condition can be raised when an employee observes something which they class as a risk to safety. This could be anything from a minor trip hazard (such as an extension cable laid across a walkway) to something potentially more serious such as a damaged electrical socket. As well as documenting the precise risk, its location and any images gathered, the observing employee can also score the unsafe condition for severity, probability/likelihood, frequency and duration. An overall risk assessment score is then generated, giving an overall risk category for the unsafe condition. If the unsafe condition has not already been resolved (the observing employee may remove the extension cable and place it in it's proper location) it can also be given a target closure date and have a fellow employee selected as being responsible for resolving the unsafe condition.

New Unsafe Condition Example

Once an unsafe condition has been created, it is available as an (responsible for) unsafe condition within the employee selected as the person responsible's login area, as an unsafe condition within the observing employee's login area as well as within the unsafe condition list and relevant employee sections within the administrator's login area.
